How are we from the lost sheep of the house of Israel saved?
Because of the original covenant YHVH the Elohim of Israel made with the ancient nation of Israel, our Jewish Brothers who remained Torah observant have access to eternal life, since YHVH gives the Set-apart Spirit to those of the commonwealth of Israel who obey Him as confirmed in Acts 5: 32, as follows: “And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Set-apart Spirit, whom Elohim has given to those who obey Him.” We also see from Ezekiel 18: 21 that if a Jewish believer who sinned, turns back to obeying Torah, he shall have eternal life, in this way: “But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My (Elohim’s) statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die.” Yahshua further confirmed this when a Pharisee asked Him how he could have eternal life in Matthew 19: 16 & 17, as follows: “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life? (17) And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” Both houses of Israel have access to eternal life when they are given the Set-apart Spirit, as Rav Shaul also explained in Romans 8: 11, saying: “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Yahshua from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Messiah Yahshua from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you.”
However, we see that after Messiah’s 120 disciples received the Set-apart Spirit on the first Shavuot/Pentecost after His death, resurrection and ascension to heaven whilst they were in the house of YHVH (meaning the Temple), some of the returnees from the house of Israel who also attended the Shavuot service wanted to know how they may also obtain the Set-apart Spirit like Messiah’s disciples did. Rav Kepha therefore explained how we from the lost sheep of the house of Israel, who are responsible for Messiah’s death because of our disobedience to Torah, may also receive the Set-apart Spirit in Acts 2: 36 – 39, saying: ‘Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that Elohim has made Him both Master and Messiah – this Yahshua whom you crucified. (37) Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Kepha and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” (38) And Kepha said to them, “Repent, and let each of you be immersed in the name of Yahshua Messiah for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Set-apart Spirit. (39) For the promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far off, as many as YHVH our Elohim shall call to Himself.”’ The expression ‘for all who are far off’ refers to those of us from the lost sheep of the house of Israel who were scattered into the nations of the world because of idolatry, as first used by the Prophet Daniel when he prayed to Elohim, just before the house of Judah returned to rebuild the Temple under Ezra and Nehemiah, in Daniel 9: 7, saying: “Righteousness belongs to Thee, O YHVH, but to us open shame, as it is this day—to the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, those who are nearby and those who are far away in all the countries to which Thou hast driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds which they have committed against Thee.” Something which our Jewish Brothers (as well as most people in the world) do not understand at this time, is that Yahshua the arm or power of YHVH, is as much a part of YHVH as is His Divine Nature or the Set-apart Spirit, since He blinded their minds to the identity of Messiah at this time, as may be understood by comparing Isaiah 53: 1 and John 12: 37 – 40 & 44 – 45, in this way:
· Isaiah 53: 1, ‘Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of YHVH been revealed?’
· John 12: 37 – 40 & 44 – 45: ‘But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him; (38) that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, “YHVH, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT? AND TO WHOM HAS THE ARM OF YHVH BEEN REVEALED?” (39) For this cause they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, (40) “HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES, AND HE HARDENED THEIR HEART; LEST THEY SEE WITH THEIR EYES, AND PERCIEVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED, AND I HEAL THEM.” (44) And Yahshua cried out and said, “He who believes in Me does not believe in Me, but in Him who sent Me. (45) And he who beholds Me beholds the One who sent Me.”’
Even though the house of Judah are blessed to have retained the oracles of Elohim, YHVH blinded their minds to the identity of Yahshua for two very important reasons as Rav Shaul explained in 1 Corinthians 2: 4 – 8 and Romans 11: 25 – 32, as follows:
· 1 Corinthians 2: 4 – 8: ‘And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, (5) that your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of Elohim (meaning Yahshua as Rav Shaul explained in 1 Corinthians 1: 24, saying: ‘But to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Messiah the power of Elohim and the wisdom of Elohim.) (6) Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature, a wisdom, however, not of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; (7) but we speak Elohim’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which Elohim predestined before the ages to our glory; (8) the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Master of glory.’
· Romans 11: 25 – 32: ‘For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own estimation, that a partial hardening has happened to (Jewish) Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles (from the house of Israel who came to believe that they are nothing but Gentiles) has come in; (26) and thus all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB. (27) AND THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS.” (28) From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of Elohim’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers; (29) for the gifts and the calling of Elohim are irrevocable. (30) For just as you once were disobedient to Elohim, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience, (31) so these also now have been disobedient, in order that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy. (32) For Elohim has shut up all in disobedience that He might show mercy to all.’
We see from the beginning of the time that YHVH interacted with the nation of Israel with His powerful hand and outstretched arm with which He promised to redeem them from their bondage in the land of Egypt, as witnessed in Exodus 6: 6, in this way: “Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘I am YHVH, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage, I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.’” Immediately after their deliverance from Egypt and through the sea, the children of Israel sang triumphantly in Exodus 15: 1 – 13, saying: “I will sing to YHVH, for He is highly exalted; the horse and its rider He has hurled into the sea. (2) YHVH is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; this is my Elohim, and I will praise Him; my father’s Elohim, and I will extoll Him. (3) YHVH is a warrior; YHVH is His name. (4) Pharaoh’s chariots and his army He has cast into the sea; and the choicest of his officers are drowned in the Red Sea. (5) The deeps cover them; they went down into the depths like a stone. (6) They right hand, O YHVH, is majestic in power, Thy right hand, O YHVH, shatters the enemy. (7) And in the greatness of Thine excellence Thou does overthrow those who rise up against Thee; Thou dost send forth Thy burning anger, and it consumes them as chaff. (8) And at the blast of Thy nostrils the water were piled up, the flowing waters stood up like a heap; the deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea. (9) The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; My desire shall be gratified against them; I will draw out My sword, my hand shall destroy them.’ (10) Thou didst blow with Thy wind, the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters. (11) Who is like Thee among the gods, O YHVH? Who is like Thee, majestic in holiness, awesome in praises, working wonders? (12) Thou didst stretch out Thy right hand, the earth swallowed them. (13) In Thy lovingkindness Thou hast led the people whom Thou hast redeemed; in Thy strength Thou hast guided them to Thy holy habitation.” Notice the great compliments concerning (YHVH)’s right hand and His holy arm. Even though it is seen by most as simply a figure of speech, where Elohim’s right hand and holy arm are described as being powerful in its ability to destroy His enemies and to deliver His chosen people. These same compliments are also mentioned throughout the Psalms and Prophets.
Moses clearly reminded the children of Israel that YHVH is One and only One, but that He is dealing with His chosen people through His arms in Deuteronomy 4: 34, saying: “Or has a god tried to go to take for himself a nation from within another nation by trials, by signs and wonders and by war and by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm and by great terrors, as YHVH your Elohim did for you in Egypt before your eyes?” Isaiah talks about the intervention of YHVH for His people through His two arms in Isaiah 51: 4 & 5, saying: “Pay attention to Me, O My people; and give ear to Me, O My nation; for a law will go forth from Me (the right hand of YHVH as He told Moses in Deuteronomy 18: 18), and I will set My justice for a light of the peoples. (5) My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, and My arms will judge the peoples; the coastlands will wait for Me, and for My arm they will wait expectantly.” The Psalmist also spoke about the power of (YHVH)’s arm to save in Psalm 44: 1 – 3, saying: ‘O Elohim, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us, the work that thou didst in their days, in the days of old. (2) Thou with Thine own hand didst drive out the nations; then Thou didst plant them; Thou didst afflict the peoples, then Thou didst spread them abroad. (3) For by their own sword they did not possess the land; and their own arm did not save them; but Thy right hand, and Thine arm, and the light of Thy presence, for Thou didst favor them’ The Psalmist continues saying in Psalm 98: 1 – 3: ‘O sing to YHVH a new song, for He has done wonderful things, His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him. (2) YHVH has made known His salvation; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations. (3) He has remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our Elohim.’ Continuing in the book of Isaiah, we see that the prophet Isaiah was also moved to associate (YHVH)’s arm with the salvation of His people. Starting in Isaiah 33: 1 & 2, we read: ‘Woe to you, O destroyer, while you were not destroyed; and he who is treacherous, while others did not deal treacherously with him. As soon as you shall finish destroying, you shall be destroyed; as soon as you shall cease to deal treacherously, others shall deal treacherously with you. (2) O YHVH, be gracious to us; we have waited for Thee. Be Thou their strength every morning, our salvation also in the time of distress.’ Starting in verse I of Isaiah 59, we read: ‘Behold, (YHVH)’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; neither is His ear so dull that it cannot hear.’ However, we see from verse 2 that it is our iniquities which made a separation between us and Elohim and as a result of our sins, He has hidden His face from us. Verses 3 – 15 continue to mention the sins of the people, then in verse 16 we see how YHVH planned to bring about the salvation of His wayward people, as follows: ‘And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede; then His own arm brought salvation to Him; and His righteousness upheld Him.’
In Isaiah 43: 1 - 15 YHVH tells us that He is Israel’s personal Savior, saying: ‘But now, thus says YHVH, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! (2) When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. (3) For I am YHVH your Elohim, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I have given Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in your place. (4) Since you are precious in My sight, since you are honored and I love you. I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for your life. (5) Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and gather you from the west. (6) I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring My sons from afar, and my daughters from the ends of the earth, (7) everyone who is called by My name, and whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, even whom I have made.” (8) Bring out the people who are blind, even though they have eyes, and the deaf, even though they have ears. (9) All the nations have gathered together in order that the peoples may be assembled. Who among them can declare this and proclaim to us the former things? Let the present their witnesses that they may be justified, or let them hear and say, “It is true.” (10) “You are My witnesses,” declares YHVH, “And My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no Elohim formed, and there will be none after Me. (11) I, even I, am YHVH; and there is no savior besides Me. (12) It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed, and there was no strange god among you; so you are My witnesses,” declares YHVH, ‘And I am Elohim.’ (13) Even from eternity I am He; and there is none who can deliver out of My hand; I act and who can reverse it? (14) Thus says YHVH your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and will bring them all down as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, into the ships in which they rejoice. (15) I am YHVH, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your king.” Here YHVH the Elohim of Israel tells them that He is their Savior and that there is no other Elohim, besides Him. He confirms this again in Hosea 13: 1 – 4, saying: ‘When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling. He exalted himself in Israel, but through Baal he did wrong and died. (2) And now they sin more and more, and make for themselves molten images, idols skillfully made from their silver, all of them the work of craftsmen. They say of them, “Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!” (3)Therefore, they will be like the morning cloud, and like dew which soon disappears, like chaff which is blown away from the threshing floor, and like smoke from a chimney. (4) Yet I have been YHVH your Elohim since the land of Egypt; and you were not to know any god except Me, for there is no savior besides Me.’
As mentioned before in Romans 11: 7 & 8 and 25 – 27 Rav Shaul tells us that YHVH purposely blinded Jewish Israel to allow a specific number of the lost sheep of the house of Israel to return to the covenant that they made with Him, together with the house of Judah at Mount Sinai, at which time all Israel from both houses will be saved. That will be when Messiah will return to save the house of Judah first as is confirmed in Zechariah 12: 7 – 12, as follows: “YHVH also will save the tents of Judah first in order that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not be magnified above Judah. (8) In that day YHVH will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like Elohim, like the angel of YHVH before them. (9) And it will come about in that day that I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. (10) And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him, like the bitter weeping over a first-born.” We read further from Romans 11: 15, that as soon as the house of Judah accepts Yahshua as their Messiah, then the dead in Messiah will be raised, as Rav Shaul explained in 1 Corinthians 15: 50 – 53, in this way: ‘Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of Elohim; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. (51) Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, (52) in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. (53) For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.’ It is for this reason that Isaiah declares in Isaiah 45: 14 & 15, saying: “Thus says YHVH, ‘The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush and the Sabeans, men of stature, will come over to you and will be yours; they will walk behind you, they will come over in chains and will bow down to you; they will make supplication to you: Surely, Elohim is with you, and there is none else, no other Elohim.’ (15) Truly, Thou art an Elohim who hides Himself, O Elohim of Israel, Savior!”
YHVH is actually revealing His arm to those of us from the house of Israel, as we read previously from Isaiah 53: 1 and John 12: 35 – 40. Nevertheless, we need to consider the sequence of events in Isaiah 53 and compare it with other writings in this regard in the Renewed Covenant. Beginning in Isaiah 53: 1 - 12 we read: "Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of YHVH been revealed? (2) For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty that we should look upon Him, nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. (3) He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and like one from whom men hide their face, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. (4) Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of Elohim, and afflicted. (5) But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our wellbeing fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. (6) All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but YHVH has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him. (7) He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; like a lamb that is led to slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, so He did not open His mouth. (8) By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living, for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due? (9) His grave was assigned with wicked men, yet He was with a rich man in His death, because He had done no violence, nor was there any deceit in His mouth. (10) But YHVH was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief; if He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of YHVH will prosper in His hand. (11) As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; by His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, as He will bear their iniquities. (12) Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the booty with the strong; because He poured out Himself to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet He Himself bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors.”
We have already seen that the Apostle Yochanan quoted verse 1 of Isaiah 53 in John 12: 38. Verse 4 is quoted in Matthew 8: 17 after Yahshua healed Rav Kepha’s mother-in-law and many who were demon-possessed and healed all who were ill, as follows: ‘In order that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, “HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFRIMITIES, AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES.” Verse 5 and 6 are quoted by Rav Kepha in 1 Peter 2: 24 & 25, saying: ‘And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. (25) For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.’ Verses 7 & 8 are quoted in Acts 8: 32 & 33 during the incident between Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch, in this way: ‘Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this: “HE WAS LED AS A SHEEP TO SLAUGHTER; AND AS A LAMB BEFORE ITS SHEARER IS SILENT, SO HE DOES NOT OPEN HIS MOUTH. (33) IN HUMILIATION HIS JUDGMENT WAS TAKEN AWAY; WHO SHALL RELATE HIS GENERATION? FOR HIS LIFE IS REMOVED FROM THE EARTH.”’ Verse 9 is quoted by Rav Kepha in 1 Peter 2: 22, saying: ‘WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH.’ Finally verse 12 is quoted in Mark 15: 28, as follows: ‘And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And He was numbered with transgressors.”’ The arm of YHVH has been revealed to the remnant of returnees from the lost sheep of the house of Israel, so that we may know that His first advent was to bring the lost sheep of the house of Israel back to the covenant we made with YHVH at Mount Sinai. The arm of YHVH is the one who became salvation to Israel in the day when Israel was delivered out of Egypt. The arm of YHVH is also the one who delivered David from all of His trials and problems.
YHVH proclaims to be Israel’s Redeemer in Isaiah 41: 14, saying: “Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel; I will help you,” declares YHVH, “and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.” Continuing in Isaiah 44: 6, He confirms this, as follows: “Thus says YHVH, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, YHVH of hosts; ‘I am the first and I am the last, and there is no Elohim besides Me.” We find another witness in Isaiah 44: 24, in this way: ‘Thus says YHVH, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb, “I, YHVH, am the maker of all things, stretching out the heavens by Myself, and spreading out the earth all alone.” The point is emphasized by Isaiah in Isaiah 47: 4, saying: ‘Our Redeemer, YHVH of hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel.’ This is repeated in Isaiah 48: 17 in this way: ‘Thus says YHVH, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; “I am YHVH your Elohim, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.” Then in Isaiah 49: 7 & 26, we read: ‘Thus says YHVH, the Redeemer of Israel, and its holy One, to the despised One, to the One abhorred by the nation, to the Servant of rulers, “Kings shall see and arise, princes shall also bow down; because of YHVH who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.” (26) “And I will feed your oppressors with their own flesh, and they will become drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine; and all flesh will know that I, YHVH, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.” However, we understand from the Renewed Covenant that Yahshua the Messiah is the one who redeem us, as Rav Shaul also explains in Galatians 4: 5, saying: ‘In order that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.’ Yes, Yahshua paid for the judgment or punishment due to us for transgressing Torah, essentially putting us under the punishment of the Law, also meaning that those who are law abiding are definitely not under the Law. We also read from Titus 1: 1 – 3, ‘Shaul, a bond-servant of Elohim, and an apostle of Yahshua Messiah, for the faith of those chosen of Elohim and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, (2) in the hope of eternal life, which Elohim, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago, (3) but at the proper time manifested, even His word, in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of Elohim our Savior.’ We further read from verses 11 – 14 of Titus 2, ‘For the grace of Elohim has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, (12) instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, (13) looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great Elohim and Savior, Messiah Yahshua; (14) who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.’
Redemption comes through the blood of Yahshua, as Rav Shaul wrote in Ephesians 1: 3 - 7, saying: ‘Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Yahshua Messiah, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Messiah, (4) just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In Love. (5) He predestined us to adoption as sons through Yahshua Messiah to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, (6) to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. (7) In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.’ Rav Shaul wrote further in Colossians 1: 3, 12 – 14, saying: ‘We give thanks to Elohim, the Father of our Master Yahshua Messiah, praying always for you. (12) Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. (13) For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, (14) in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.’ Rav Shaul continues to inform us how Messiah redeemed us, since He is the Mediator of the Renewed Covenant, in Hebrews 9: 11 – 15, as follows: ‘But when Messiah appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; (12) and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. (13) For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, (14) how much more will the blood of Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to Elohim, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim? (15) And for this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, in order that since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance (promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob).’
At the beginning of this study, we have shown that YHVH proclaimed Himself as Israel’s Elohim, Savior and Redeemer in the Tanach. Nevertheless we also see according to the Renewed Covenant that Yahshua the Messiah is the house of Israel’s Savior and Redeemer. In addition we’ve seen a number of witnesses in the Tanach where YHVH clearly said that there was no Elohim or Savior besides Him. Therefore, since the Tanach represents YHVH as Israel’s Savior and Redeemer and as YHVH the Elohim of Israel, the Renewed Covenant presents Yahshua the Messiah as their Savior and Redeemer, we have to conclude that Yahshua is either an imposter or He is YHVH with us. This poses the question: how does this measure up with what the oral Torah has to say about the Oneness of Elohim. For this reason we turn to the BAHIR first published in 1176 CE, which contains oral tradition which existed long before the time of Yahshua. We read from page 95 of the BAHIR that Elohim created man from a ‘blueprint’, as follows: “the form (image) of G-d in which He created man is actually G-d’s blueprint form for man. This ‘form’ or ‘blueprint’ consisted of G-d’s first thought in creation, and hence the highest level of creation. This is referred to as ‘Adam Kadmon’.” On page 91 of the BAHIR we read: ‘The word Torah refers to the entire spiritual blueprint of creation.’ On page 96 we read: ‘In Proverbs 8, it is Wisdom who speaks… The Torah is Wisdom and is therefore the “head’ of creation… The Torah was the blueprint of creation and therefore preceded it.’ The BAHIR established that the ‘image’ of G-d is His attributes and blueprint for creation. It also states that Torah is the blueprint. Then it states that all was created through Wisdom and that Wisdom is Torah. Therefore, all these are Adam Kadmon – the image of G-d – and He and G-d are a perfect unity. Now we understand Yahshua’s statement ‘before Abraham was, I Am’. It was Adam Kadmon who came in the person of Yahshua, as salvation and the full embodiment of Torah. I believe that these facts will eventually assist in bringing the two houses of Israel together as the commonwealth of Israel, when Messiah will come to usher in the kingdom of Elohim. Thinks about it!
