Nazarene Israelite Two House Congregation of Port Elizabeth
CHAROSET
2 Cups chopped apples
2 Cups chopped walnuts
2 Teaspoons cinnamon
2 Tablespoons sweet red wine
Combine and refrigerate.
Use less of the ingredients for a small group.
Additional requirements for the Passover:
-
Unleavened bread (Matzos) and Natural Red wine (not fortified).
-
Parsley and salt water (parsley to be dipped into dish of salt water during service).
-
Celery (to be dipped into the dish of charoset during the service).
-
The meal served should ideally consist of a lamb shoulder for each participant, but lamb chops are also suitable. Remember meat should be eaten inside the house and should not be taken outside and no bones may be broken.
-
All participants should have been immersed into Yahshua’s saving name. In addition all male participants should be circumcised.
-
All participants need to bring a towel to be used to dry their feet during the Passover service.
-
After the service, the left over unleavened bread should be burned with fire and the left over wine should be poured out in the sink. If the Passover should occur on a Sabbath evening, the unleavened bread should be burned on an existing fire, kindled before the Sabbath – the open fire used to roast the meat prior to the service.
